curious about groups?

Curiosity sometimes pays off. Or was it trial and error? Either way, you've just tasted a little bit of what it can be like to take part in one of our Events - there's a seemingly ordinary or innocuous element in the world that might, in fact, be discovered to be a portal to something unanticipated. Sometimes you'll need a port key to get through.

Consider how each of these "curiosities" might apply to your group.

There are several of these peppered around this website - see if you can find them!

Before you go, here's something about groups you might find interesting...

A gathering of people is a group when its members are collectively conscious of their existence as a group; when they believe it satisfies their needs; when they share aims, are interdependent, like to join in group activities, and want to remain with the group.
— Oxford Brookes University (https://www.brookes.ac.uk/services/ocsld/resources/small-group/sgt101.html)

When a group is working effectively, each person has a clear role or, more often than not, several roles. Each of these roles needs to be carried responsibly for the group to fulfil its purpose. Not all roles are needed across groups with differing purposes.

MindTools has an interesting article outlining Belbin's Group Roles ideas.

You can complete a Team Roles Self-Analysis test here. Lots of other free tests there too.
